Dear Friends,

My journey to become Judge of the 285 th District Court has begun and I am respectfully requesting your support! During my campaign I am confident that you will find that I have the requisite experience and commitment to serve as your Judge.

The district courts are vitally important to the citizens of our State, since they are the primary trial courts in Texas. The 285 th District Court is a civil trial court with jurisdiction over a diverse array of civil matters, including, family law, breach of contract, personal injury, suits to try title to land, corporate law and other civil disputes. Since this Court covers such diverse areas of the law and is a trial court, you need a Judge with diverse legal experience and trial experience.

As a trial attorney, I have successfully handled some very complex and serious cases, in the areas of personal injury, Qui Tam law (a.k.a. “Whistleblower law”), family law, small business representation, and criminal defense; thus making me well-rounded and uniquely qualified for the bench. I have been trying cases since I graduated from St. Mary's Law School in 2002 and I have been in court ever since.

As a life-long Democrat, I believe our legal system should serve as the foundation that protects and guarantees our rights and freedoms. All people must have access to the courts and equal treatment under the law, with confidence that their grievances will be fairly adjudicated.

I was born, raised, and educated here in Bexar County. I grew up in a community service oriented family. My mother, a life long educator, and my father, an attorney, community activist and former State Legislator, both taught me that serving my community is the highest honor that an individual can achieve. I plan to continue that legacy by serving our community as your Judge.

Should I become your Judge, I pledge to work tirelessly to ensure that justice is dispensed fairly and impartially. I will treat all litigants and attorneys with respect. I will be available and I will make prompt rulings. I do not claim to know every aspect of the law, but I have the intelligence, experience, and balance to be decisive and independent in making the right decisions.

I have real experience, proven leadership and the right temperament to sit on the bench of the 285 th District Court. I ask for your support and your vote on March 2, 2010.

All my best,

Rosie
